Fortunately there are people in this world who have ideas and share them for the better of mankind. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”

This is something I did 3 yrs ago never really knowing where it would go or how much it would impact my family, friends and charities we supported. All it took was the INITIATIVE of one person to be contagious throughout a community.

To date AIK has donated over $40,000 to families battling Cancer.

The changes this year are exciting! AIK have inspired people to come on board. We are in the process of becoming our own Society with Charity Status. What this means is that there are now a group of talented individuals making quality decisions for AIK. We are the Board of Directors and Advisors to AIK.

When connected to AIK, the athlete has a resource centre at their fingertips. Our web site will linked to the many needs of the week-end athlete, team sport athlete, up to and including the elite. AIK has teamed up with several companies that share the same philosophy of giving back to the community and the less fortunate because of the battle with disease. Fundraising with a giving purpose is key to a successful event. With AIK on you side your fundraiser will win. AIK can help your team do what it takes to be successful in raising funds.

Athletes In Kind has been referred to as AIK since the beginning 2005, this is why you see a change in our logo as it just works. Included in this change, you will begin to see a new slogan, “driven by sport | inspired by people”, because that is what drives us at AIK! We are all as athletes inspired by something or someone that led us to sport. AIK is a process which leads us to the unknown in fundraising efforts.

We will continue with perseverance to schedule our Signature events each year. There is always more to come. Our board is dynamic and filled with unsurpassing energy to bring not only more fundraising events but more for the athlete who is driven.
