Every other day one child ages 0-19 is diagnosed with cancer.  Often times, their families are left with huge financial burdens to bear along with the emotional and physical stress of caring for an ill loved one.  These burdens are often in the form of costs for hotel stays at out-of-town treat centers or reduced income due to missing work.

The purpose of AIK (Athletes In Kind) is to help alleviate some of the financial burden. We organize athletic and non-athletic events to fund our cause.

    Thank-you for all your help & support at today’s AIK Kids Fun Run. We had 99 pre-registered runners and a show of 74 participants. 25 that didn’t show were pre-paid Race Passport entries that were matched by Scotia bank. Eric & I are so very grateful to everyone that helps out at AIK events, they truly wouldn’t be a success without you. We hope you enjoyed the experience and had a good Canada Day off for the remainder of the day. FYI-4 years ago Athletes In Kind put on a little 1k for the kids at the Pitt Meadows Canada Day 7k Race and we had 26 participants making a whooping $130.00 for the Charity(I think it cost a lot more than that to put on) Every year since we have grown(with Sponsorship too) this year 99 registered made the Charity $2640.00 Way to go TEAM!
